This is a super composition Shiv. Ladakh has a been dream for me always and yet I have not been able to make it there. Your images are only increasing my mind's hunger for an even intense search of the enigma as you rightly mentioned. Places like Ladakh and Northern Sikkim have something as the spirit of the land. Its very important to understand the spirit there and from whatever I have seen from your collection, I would say you are in the right track. Go as many times as possible and unearth the mystery, show the world how your vision defines such enigma. Life is not about 100% success or failure if you ask me, so am not bothered about comparing images with such terms. It helps you to visualize more and more and perhaps one day even with your eyes shut the light from the spirit of the land would touch your mind. Keep going buddy.

this centre line has really made this image more mysterious, shiva. love ever line 'n texture of the scape. somehow, i would have preffered the whole image in focus or best focus in the front and drops as we go back, just my thought. what's those few bright & dark specks?

A fine image to see from Lakakh, never seen sands from Ladakh a fine composition and a beautiful b/w conversion. Love the textures on this one. I personally believe that the rating box of default 1 should be disabled either it should be blank very often I was almost close to hitting the icon and landing up with a wrong rating.

The wavy ridges creates the appeal for this image. Nice control on the exposure too. Checked the exif and the focal length seems 200mm. Did you get a chance to make an wide angle shot also ?

@Nevilji - Am really not too concerned about the rating aspect but yes we are seriously considering what best can be done regarding the rating box which has started causing problem lot off late. The bright spots are the sand particles getting reflected of sun light. yes have few frames with different points of focus.
@VMR - Apparently this is a Color image - The place itself is famous for this due to which it gets the name SilverSandunes.
@Mahesh - I did try to do some wideangle shots but not too happy with that. I was too reluctant on going ultra wide on this one fearing that i would end up in routine sandune image.

Fantastic image Shiv... I am also of the same opinion as that of Nevil on the focus point...I prefer it a bit lower in the frame. But a very fine visualization... Thanks for sharing...

Nice seeing here Shiv ! Wavy line in the center and perpendicular horizontal lines makes this image for me. May be you have other variations too. One with lot more dof (with front to back rendered sharp) and other with a lot less dof with just the center in focus. A bit more of contrast and brightness may further add to it (It is more than a month since I have calibrated my display however).

I liked this on your teaser itself and it was my fave that very instant. Lovely scape, the wavy patterns are very strong in capturing your attention along with the horizontal lines flowing downwards. A slightly higher DOF would have been better, but you still cant miss admiring this shot. Brilliant seeing here

Crisp sand grains, curvy dune edges and tone makes the image for me. Great visualization. Yes love to see more DoF.
