Fire works in the Sky!
Warm wishes to all on CNP for a wonderful New Year!

Over the last one year I have been working on some new ideas to grab Astro Scapes by the throat to generate some unique perspectives. I will be sharing the work very soon.

Coming to this image, this is Geminids Meteor Shower shot from Rajgad Fort in Pune. After my stint shooting the same showers in 2012 in BRT with a natural landscape, I wanted to do something different and make an image placing the showers in context with a cultural / heritage symbol. I felt including an antiquated cultural symbol would bring in a sense of timeless'ness to the image showing the passage of time on these grand old symbols of our civilization. Rajgad has seen hundreds of Meteors Showers over the span of its time and I was there this time around to witness it from this wonderful vantage point. The close to full moon proved to be a challenge for spotting and shooting faint meteors but it was still worth the tough climb to the spot.

Many Thanks to my dear friend Vivek Kale, who was an incredible wealth of information and who has relentless passion to saving our beautiful mountains.

Thanks for Exploring and may the new year open out a lot more exciting frontiers for our exploration.

Splendid setting. I love the way the for converges into the distance where there is a twin glow over the horizon

Perfect with the timing with the horizons colors... And as Saurabh said, the foreground makes the image mesmerizing :)

interesting take about juxtaposing the cultural with natural. Presenting monuments as witness to such phenomenon imbues them with life. Fireworks are an icing, the cake being the way the rampart approaches the horizon.
Thanks for sharing

Harsha,
you take our breath away with such "heaven meets earth" images. using words defines and limits the image...
huge applaud for the constant passionate endeavour to create something new and challenging in photographing and freezing these astroscape wonders and making it come alive for us over and over again.
as already mentioned by others here, the earth and the stars in one frame and the colours are breathtaking....keep them coming.
i loved the ridges and contours in the hill, adds a dynamic feel , like visually climbing up the hill to see the shooting stars..:)
i can not even imagine the preparation and planning and several trials it must have taken to take such shots...
