BBC WPOTY - Congratulations to Adithya Biloor

Postby CNP Staff » Thu Oct 20, 2011 6:56 am

Hearty congratulations to Adithya Biloor for his "Runner-up" award in Nature in B&W Category of BBC's recently concluded 2011 competition !!

For more info you may visit the BBC's page here

Adithya, wishing you more such awards in future. A formal congratulations from CNP Family !!

He did share this images with us long back. We take this opportunity to emphasize the importance of sharing useful comments. Friends, we repeatedly state here in our forum that 1 or 2 word comments like "beautiful", "wow", "I like it" etc are simply useless. We are here to learn and develop our visions. It is better not make such comments. It is interesting to trace back the comments on this particular image in the CNP when he posted initially. The second winning image is another take by Adithya based on some of the views shared by CNP members which he too felt would add to the frame.

The first post - image_id: 3901

The second post - image_id: 3924

We came to know that several images of our members were in finals this year (about 10). Congratulations to all !

We want to see fresh perspectives, the world want to see fresh perspectives - not the run of the mill images made by lenses and cameras. We might frequently fail in this tough path but each such failures will teach us a powerful lesson to improve our vision.

Congratulations again Adithya! Those who plan to attend CNP meet will get a chance to personally congratulate Adithya and Nilanjan !
Regards,
CNP Staff

Congrats Adithya and warm hugs. Seen the images ? Perspectives have changed real fast, nothing is a limitation now buddy :-). People all over the world are just so imaginative and talented, except for one image in Gerald Durell, I did not notice seeing a single documentation type of an image. Not even forceful execution of techniques, so much of thinking went behind making of every image. Natural History totally gripped by creative approach now :-). Wishing you all the best for more creative vision, we all have a purpose here in CNP and a long long journey to make. Who wins is not important as much, let us all try to hold hands and move ahead. Best of luck to all the members of CNP.

Congratulations Adithya , Nilanjan ... Party time.

I was on a conf call couple of days ago with 4 others, different locations on earth, different nationalities, different cultures, different jobs, varied interests. All of them were me erstwhile colleagues, have taken different paths in life other than writing code. It was no surprise for me that 3 of them knew CNP and have been following over an year now. CNP has been a game changer, and will continue to be. We (i have taken the liberty of saying we !) have been raising the bar (not the BAR Nilanjan :) ).

Thinking big, - 2020 - CNP awards are going to be bigger than BBC.

Congratulations Aditya and Nilanjan. Its such an honor for us to interact with one another on this forum and I can proudly call us all a part of our Big photo family. What Nilanjan says is true, the trend is showing a slow but definite change from documentary images to images which are made keeping the thinking caps on. And I see a future not too far from now where the "art" of seeing will one day become an integrated part of our seeing!

Cant wait to meet you guys and shake hands in person.

Dear all,

Thank you very much for the wishes.

I would like to thank some people specifically, for their contribution in taking my passion to this level.

My family- My brother Abhimanyu, who gifted me my first camera. My wife Anusha who always backed my passion for photography. My parents, who always encouraged me .

My close friend, mentor Ashwini Kumar Bhat. He spent his precious time with me discussing about photography inspite of his busy work hours. For this competition also he forced me to take part and made necessary arrangements. I wish the deep friendship which we share would remain like this forever.

My other friend Adithya U N who suggested me my first lens and brought it for me from Bangalore.

Members and moderators of Creative Nature Photography (CNP). Especially Ganesh H Shankar, Nevil Zaveri, Nirlep's critiques have helped me a lot to improve. As Ganesh told these critiques have played an important role in shaping my photography.

Last but not the least the place where I live- Rainland Kodachadri. When my friends are searching for opportunity to take images this place gives me thousands of opportunity everyday.

I may have missed many names in the excitement including many photographers from all over the world from whom I draw inspiration.

I am thankful to have fantastic friends like you folks and I wish to have the same kind of support from all of you guys going forwards.

Thank you once again.
Adithya Biloor

Congratulations Adithya and Nilanjan Da !!
I was hurriedly going through the winning gallery in the morning, to find out any names of indian photographers making it big there.
We knew about nilanjan's entry and seeing Adithya's image was icing on the cake. It made my day !!

Congratulations once again..
and thanks to CNP for giving such a wonderful platform to the photographers like us.

Cheers,

Congrats Adithya.. wish you more heights.
Like I mentioned to Ganesh in one of first mails and like what Nilanji ji mentions most of the time.. the ideas of CNP is where future better "nature photography" lies.
