CNP Meet - KSRTC and Private Bus details for the venue

Dear CNPians,
This information is for the members who are attending the meet on Nov 18th and 19th at Simha Farms, Madodi.

To reach Madodi via bus (both State Govt run and private) one has two options.

Option #1:
KSRTC Rajahamsa Executive (Bus to Kollur via Hosanagara and Nagara)

This bus leaves Mejastic (Bangalore Bus station) at 8:30PM and one can book the seats online.
Care should be taken to choose the bus which goes via Hosanagara and Nagara.
The ticket needs to be booked for Kollur and one can ask for a request stop at Madodi.
The bus typically reaches Madodi by around 4:45AM- 5:00AM.

Option #2:
Durgamba Travels (Bus to Kollur and Kundapura via Hosanagara and Nagara)

For the people who prefer to board the bus from some pick up point other than Mejastic this bus is suitable. They pick up from various pick up points across Bangalore like Jayanagara, Vidyapeetha Circle, Navarang etc.
Care needs to be taken while booking to make sure that you are booking for a 2+2 bus. There is another 2+3 bus also which could be the worst case scenario id the 2+2 gets completely full.
One can find any private bus booking agents do the booking for Durgamba bus. Please make sure that you ask the timing of the bus at the point where you are boarding.
Again, you need to book the ticket for Kollur and ask the driver or the assistant to drop you at Madodi.

Madodi is at around 5km from Sampekatte, which is a more popular place. It is in between Sampekatte and Nittoor and both and quite known places. Some drivers might not have heard about Madodi but they would surely know about Sampekatte and Nittoor. Hence if the driver doesn't know about Madodi tell him to inform you at Sampekatte and Madodi comes just about 5kms from there .

Continuing the post for Durgamba travels...

On Durgamba's website we see two bus routes going to Kollur (Mookambika) - 22D and 32D both the buses go via Sampekatte and either of them can be booked

For the return boarding the Bus at Sampekatte is the easier option for people who want to leave directly from Simha farms: For this Book the bus number 32U which stops at Sampekatte.

The same buses can be booked on Redbus also.

Sorry for the delay in reply. In the afternoon I wrote the reply and hit preview instead submit.

Our farm is located next to bus stop. Immediately after getting down from the bus you will see sign board. It's just 2 minutes walk from the bus stand and the place where you are staying. Also I will send a person to receive you guys.

There is a train till Shimoga from Bangalore which comes to Shimoga around 6.00 in the morning. There is a bus to our farm from Shimoga around 6.15. The next bus is at 7.00. These are private buses going to Kollur via Hosanagar, Nagar. You have to take the tickets to Madodi. They will pass by our farm 9.30 and 11.00 respectively.

About the Durgamba- Now both the buses are 2+2 seater. (15 days back there was one 3+2 bus) You can choose any. The first bus departs from Swathi Hotel, Sheshadripuram at 9.15p.m. and second one at 10.00p.m. Both the buses have have pick up points in Jayanagr, Banashankari etc.

PS: In our farm there is no mobile phone connectivity except Reliance CDMA in some parts. Don't forget to inform this in home.
Nearest ATM and Petrol bunk (for the people who are coming by their own vehicle) are at Kollur which is 45 minutes (27 k.m.) journey from our farm.
