Affection
Brightness, color, contrast and definition of an image are like different curves in space. The image making is a process of finding an approximate point of intersection where they appear emotionally correct, not technically correct. Some times these curves may diverge generating unrelated notes. Lessons of life do help them bring together, at times...

To be emotionally correct (or wrong) subjects matter? What would have happened if there ware two boulders in this image than elephants?

RD, I think it does not matter as long as the smaller boulder in this case is the child of the larger boulder!! (if we can relate that way, without being explicit).
In this image what my tastebuds respond to is the the following

- Curve and the darker (circled) patch
- The knowledge that the dark patch is head of a child and the attribution of the same to human posture with bent head.
- and that the mother is in front of the child

I get your point Ganesh.
But, most of the times, 'Do we fail to get the "emotion" factor with so called "emotionless" subjects? How do we recognize them? ' - to me that is a big challenge.

RD, On a lighter note probably that depends on whether we are born with silver spoon on not. Just guessing.. :)

love the simplicity and emotion behind this picture on how the baby follows its mother....till such time.........to quote you Sir"these curves may diverge generating unrelated notes"
Just thrilled about the topics discussed in the thread of emotion and how to relate to that is so devoid........ on other forums...........thank you

Affection it is Ganesh! The little calf in tow, soft yielding form of grass, relaxed rounded forms of animals makes the image for me. I can feel the sentiment here. Wonderful!
