Bee Eater
I made this image during last winter. I found the perch and light as interesting as the bird (if not more). Since I had the long tele (600mm+1.4xtc) on my tripod I decided to back off sufficiently to frame it this way. Love to know your thoughts..

I can only say that you are a genius and as mentioned so many NPN photographers very truly that even after 25 years of shooting in their life with commercial success coming their way , still when they see your photos, they think they need to restart. If such big names say this, what can I ? :). I wouldnt have photographed this perhaps thinking light was very very bad, and see what an image here.

Ganesh, this is fantastic image for me. I totally agree with Nilanjan. There is no doubt about it. One very small comment/suggestion here. What if you have cropped few pixels from down yo make slightly tight compo? Just my thought. Like to know what you feel

Nilanjan, thanks for your compliments. I must say NPN photographers are very generous. I know I have a long way to go, for sure.

the light is just brilliant here. The subtle definition of the beak adds to the image too along with the backlit green leaf adding a duality to the image

Hello Ganesh,

This is a beautiful image - extremely well composed and executed. I am particularly enamored by the two green leaves on the branch and how they interact with the subject. Stunning.

If I may be so bold, I would have preferred one small change during the capturing of the image. I'm a big fan of very softly flash-filled images - so softly filled that it's impossible to tell a flash was used. In this case, I would have preferred an extremely subtle increase to the exposure on the green breast of the bird. I think the best way to accomplish this would have been a very low-powered fill (as opposed to playing with the file in post-processing). The trick here would have been to pick up the iridescent greens ever so slightly and leaving other aspects of the image - particularly the branches - almost untouched by the light. In doing I think (and I sure may be wrong), but the association in colour and brightness of the green leaves and the green breast would be even stronger.

But the image is definitely absolutely fabulous as presented. My hat is off to you!

Cheers...

Brad
