An Eye
I made this image during my recent trip to Chambal Sanctuary. Though I have an image of it sitting outside the tree hole I love this perspective more. Thanks for your views.

O my god! Ooo my god!!
Am I imagining things .....O man this is amazing amazing stuff. Right from the warped wood to that confident eye outward bound this image is magic. It is bewitching it is evil!!!! It is life. The part of the bird you've shown is spot on with the textures contours and age of wood. I can't take my eyes of this lil thing in there. It's hypnotic.
Great shot.

What an image!!! :-O The texture on the tree bark, the lighting in the shaded portion, the mystic curves and that captivating eye - makes the image outstanding for me! I am not sure about the green leaves that you have included. If I were you and if it were possible then I would have avoided the leaves so that the only colored element would be the eye of the owlet. the rest of the image looks more of a total grey toned image with those mystical curves on the bark.
Excellent one here Ganesh. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing image Ganesh. the sense of mystery is very well portrayed here and your technical prowess is showing in every pixel of this image. I am not too sure about the OOF green leaves in the FG. For my taste I would have loved to see a frame without them. But one eye in the strong point of my eyes is too captivating to take my eyes off. Bows!

Sir to be honest, I downloaded this image from your website the day you posted it and made it my wall paper!! Saying it is excellent is a gross understatement. I agree with the others in terms of the texture, the captivating eye, the sunlight to the right everything works for me. Also I think it goes well with my theory that sometimes an image makes more of an impact when there are some key elements hidden from the viewer, than when you have everything out in the open leaving no room for imagination. I simply cant get enough of such "Partial Pictures".This image is digital art on steroids. Thanks for showing us Bharathpur! and cant wait to get there.

Ganesh when I heard you had shot some over 200+ images of owls I was ecstatic but this is sublime. I think showing the bird partially and the inclusion of the green works for me. The small catchlight in the eye and the textures of the tree capture the essence of the owl truly. It is only when we see images like this we understand the power of taking in the feeling and step back and start thinking before making images. I believe hundreds of photographers have walked up this tree made thousands of images of the owlet spending quite some time to see that the owl is fully visible. The vision here makes a bold statement as it translates into this fine image.

Ganesh, This is your second such image of an owl. The first one was taken few years ago in Lalbagh. These two have different impacts of their own. Here the tree trunk pattern and owl make great image.
