stones have faces
Close to where I live is this place with steep crags, a leftover from the days of building of bhakhra dam when the earth was bitten into by earth movers and diggers to quarry stone. The ambience here is very sombre and austere. This stone with human face albeit with a droop suddenly lit up the place for me.

A unique perspective here Nirlep ! I like the way you have emphasized the stone here. We often use light to emphasize a subject of our interest with in the frame. Here I like the way you have used dof to emphasize the stone using your probably a wide angle lens. Also there is some amount of illusion/confusion here about the background itself. I could not conclude whether those are mountain ranges at a far off distance or bigger stone flakes a little away from the bolder. I think this confusion seem to add to the frame !! Thanks for sharing..

Nice seeing. It pays to have a keen observing eye. Sometimes the most common and apparently dull looking subjects could throw such pleasant surprises. I liked the DOF for the BG as well which bodes well with the description of the engineering transformations being done to the earth. Now I am not sure if the mounds are natural or man made but it still has an impact on the viewer

Thanks Kaushik, Ganesh and Sriharsha for your appreciation. The mounds in BG are hills about 40-50 meter high. These are the leftovers of natural formations. I took the shot from ground level with wide angle lense as the small mound supporting the stone was just 6-7 inches high.
