Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary
I was in Chennai during the last week end and had an opportunity to visit Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary about 70km south of Chennai. I made this image using borrowed equipement from Dr Sreeni and Sunder - thanks Sreeni and Sunder!.

In this I tried to use the curved pattern of reflection and waited for a painted stork show up in the middle. I found this view and arrangement interesting. I wish the water surface was clear but it was not. I have cloned out a few noise like regions from the surface of water. Made this one from the watch tower there.

Thanks for your views..

Like the perspective, it brings out the vastness of the sanctuary. The stork along with the nesting/roosting Egrets provide a fantastic mood.

The birds perched on Mangroves in BG also add to the picture. Wish the bottom part were a bit lighter.
Nice take with borrowed equipment!

Ganesh, A very nice perspective here. Yes, the view from the watch tower is fantastic. I have something similar which I made during my visit. the lone Stork with its reflection adds some nice mood to the image. Did you make images in the evening when all birds swoop down to roost ?

Superb perspecitve there Ganesh. I love the details and the "fine" definition of reflections of the tree( in the first row) on the right top of the frame. Painted stork is pretty close to the center of the frame which is slightly taking the impact off but the emerald green waters just soothes my eyes! Wish those floaters weren't there but am asking too much from nature ;-)

Very nice image and shows a new perspective of the Vedanthangal lake. Wonderful effect with a wide angle, the lone painted stork adds character to the image and the sanctuary. Thanks for sharing!
