The Polaris and the Skypond
The North Star and the Skypond: Hiking up to skypond every year has become a kind of pilgrimage for me. I believe it is because this set of mountain range has a special place in my heart which had the power to make me fall in love with them a few years back. For this years hike, I wanted to do something different. So I pulled off an all night hike, reached the top at 1AM in the morning and photographed this scene to my hearts content till the sun rose in the other direction. I had calculated the Polaris position (North star) and knew that I would get circular star trails with this composition. The result of my all night shooting is in-front of you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did while standing under the stars, witnessing the grandeur.

Ganesh if you are seeing this, the reflections image that you asked about was of this same mountain range.

Thank you for your comments and critics.

Passion n patience paid very well, Adithya. Nice decision to include polaris, for full circular trails. I may go little underexposure to have richer contrast in the sky.
Just curious to know, is it possible to have hint of startrail, in reflection?!
Regards.
