AI versus RI ?!!!...reminds one of the fact that a stupendous amount of science and technology is required to replicate just 10% of that insect's capability

Agreed Raj, while there is lots of useful 'AI' research happening with lots of data for learning, I am amazed how the new born mosquito which lives for a week knows to survive and protect itself without lots of 'experience' similar to 'supervised' learning that we is used in AI, deep learning in particular. I think that kind of 'learning' exhibited by life forms is beyond comprehension.

The comparison to me is not just favoring the fly's intelligence over the code, For what fly can do cannot be reproduced by code. But fly cannot understand the code at all. This brings in the importance of consciousness again. The superior fly doesn't know it is superior. If so then is it really superior? All this makes sense or doesn't to the third element of the observer. While the fly and code do what they are programmed to do. Makes me want to visit Richard Dawkins ' The Extended Phenotype '.

Do I see, that it stands something about "debug" in the programming?! Seems to have worked good... :-)

The bug probably got attracted to DeBug to see what it is ! :-D
the other day, I had a weevil roaming all around my macbook. Fascinating little creatures, still surviving so well around us.
