rescue me
a small plant or shoot down from the base of a tree trunk, was not burnt but baked alive in the heat of the recent forest-fire; ignited by some local people to protest against forest authorities of dang jungle, burning more than 300 acres of dry bamboo forest.

this small plant against it's parent's trunk with bark texture was like a baby in her mother's lap, to me, looked very fragile against the harsh bark-texture in the backdrop. decided to go b/w for stronger graphical impact and to pull-out that thin twig.

thank you for your critiques and ratings. regards.

Nevil ji its very touching! Your words add a lot to the impact of the image... I too felt the same feel of 'baby in her mother's lap' when I saw only the image and not the words, but dint know that its mother was burnt to black! A very touching image for me...

thank you ashwiniji, for 'seeing' and words. here this tree 'n twig were hardly burnt but baked in heat (not flames, i guess, as there were just a little blown ashes on them). mostly dry bamboos and small plants 'n trees around were seriously burnt, apart from other millions of helpless animals!

regards.

Hi Nevil,
Nice portrayal here. But i wish the picture was in color to depict the process of burning to elicit better emotional response.
Thanks for sharing

NIce thought process here Nevil. In my view you are almost there in translating your thoughts into image. I think brighter patches around the twig seem to over power a bit. Since you have gone B&W a little bit of burning might add to it. Thanks for sharing..
