Spider
With the monsoon clouds looming large I knew my days of shooting would be reduced decided to try out some macro images. This one was with the lensbaby to highlight the striped back. The color version is here http://www.indianaturewatch.net/display ... p?id=96362. Oflate the b/w conversions have added a new dimension your views on the conversion.

VMR, I loved the colour version too. Lovely soft colours. I like the effect you have created here. The black n white conversion too is very soothing to the eye. Always a pleasure to see nature through your lens. :).

Lovely image VMR. B&W does help in bringing the attention more to the spider stripes by "eliminating" green BG & reddish stem.
Love the soft rendering of lens baby.
On a funny note, I kept searching for the spiders head.

VMR, I like B&W version more than the color. The patterns on the spider seem to really stand out in B&W version compared to the colored one.

VMR, personally I loved the colored version. I understand partially that getting that high impact image using lens baby is extremely tough. The reason I say that is, in this image my mind finds it extremely hard to perceive the the narrow DOF at BRC of the bug. How ever in the color version, the colors tend to take that nit away from my mind. Just my two cents..
