Even though individual ant in this picture was running with a purpose, a collective representation of their motion brings in a randomness to the movement. In the view of which every ant contributes its share to the final result - race to achieve maximum randomness...

Whether those ants or humans must have the same purpose.

It reminds me of us humans. Could be a illustration of us humans in a city, at a train station or in the traffic.

Nevil, it is a slow shutter image. I was photographing the stationary group at the top. Another group moved in. I quickly decided to reduce the shutter to keep them in motion while rendering the stationary ones as is. What astonished was next day all these little ones had tiny wings and the following day none were on the tree. I don't know the natural history of these insects but Nature is simply mysterious and magical...
