'Gravitational slingshot' ... yes that's what it is called. I've been trying to remember what I read in astronomy.
The leaf represents a star escaping or being flung out of the galaxy. The tapering tip pointed towards the galaxy centre, imparts a sense of fleeing away motion. Yellow colour implies the burn out during the atmospheric escape .
Sort of a 'three body phenomenon' where a star of a binary system is flung out when the other is caught in a black hole
