I was at Savandurga few days back. Found quite lot of photographic opportunities around a lake at the foothills. Here is one of them. I liked the spotlighting of the fresh branch against the dull blue waters of the lake. Appreciate your views and comments.

EXIF: D700, 70-200mmL@200mm, 1/160s, f/10, ISO 200, -0.3EV, hand held, later morning

Beautifully seen image Ramesh ! Love the subtle play of light and simplicity here. Wish the tree being slightly slimmer (on which you don't have any control) may be a bit more wider perspective to reduce the domination of the tree would add further ? Gentle sharpening of the tree may add further. Thanks for sharing..

Lyrical composition here Ramesh! Boosting the colors for the waters ( never mind if it looked like this ) would further add to the composition is what I believe. That apart, for my taste I would have also preferred a bit more of contrast too. Nevertheless, a nice composition here.

Thanks, Ganesh and Pramod. Appreciate your views. Ganesh, will try softening the trunk a bit. Pramod, i had tried increasing the contrast a bit and it led to loss of details on the undeside of the trunk. Hence had pulled it back.

Its when I see images like this I think Nikon has an edge. The colors you have got here cannot be reproduced from a Canon. The D 700 is in a league of its own. I think the use of locally available subjects and complimenting it with available light and above all keeping it simple is the key why this image works.
