Colors in nature
Made this image couple of months ago in a near by reservoir near Bangalore. Was strolling around the water body for some interesting composition, just as when I saw these algae formations towards the edge of the water. It didn't end there. The colors, patterns and the textures caught my attention. The scene was adorned by the wings of the insects.

Thanks for looking. Would love to know your thoughts.

Was wondering if the use of a polarizer would have done more justice to this image ?

Another lovely abstract pattern man! Loved it but the reflecting light seems to distract the mood. Would a CPL have helped to cut that reflections off?

Very interesting one here Pramod...cutting down the harsh light a bit would have improved the effect manifold...Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL) would have been a good choice...

For me the composition and the gradations of colors from top left makes it a really strong image. The weathered wings of the insects act as nice sujbect spots on the image.

I dont know and I think its just me who feels this image looks pretty much complete even without a CPL usage.
At times our eyes get used to some particular focal lengths and certain on or off camera effects by filters such that anything conventional and outside that will be considered non-acceptable. IMO a CPL might have induced more contrast and made the image more punchier but thats what you get to see all the while in all the forums - so whats that different that we want to see and portray here ? The subtleness of the greens here would have def been lost otherwise.

A unique perspective here Pramod. Love those colorful concentric gradation of arcs. Interestingly those busy white dots adds to the image in my view ! Thanks for sharing..

Absolutely brilliant creation here. The reason I find this image utterly riveting is because it makes the small look big and the big look small. Both at first glance and through many glances thereafter, I kept thinking of this scene as an aerial view of a landscape, consisting of grass and snow! This, for me, is the pinnacle of seeing and executing what is seen.

As for nits, the whites could have been a bit less luminescent (for my taste only), but I'm not sure whether you could really have achieved the dynamic range to expose everything in the frame on an even keel. Thanks for sharing what will remain one of the most memorable images from you in my view.
