Tonal Ranges
I was very frustrated with my images made during last trip to Shimsha. I went there with B&W in mind. Some how failed to translate images in mind to reality. Here is one which came close. Handling tonal ranges in B&W in this kind of images is a very interesting challenge. Needless to say accurately calibrated monitor is must for processing as well as viewing such images..

Even i felt the same Ganesh. Its def not an easy task to shoot and make perfect B&W images in one day especially when it comes to Landscapes.
This one has come out really well here. The monsoon drama in the sky and the spotlit falls in the bottom of the frames goes along really well.
Having said that i feel the eye is searching for some intricate details in this scape.

Ganesh, I am seeing a distinct separating line between the vegetation and the sky. Apart from that I can realize its a difficult frame all together. Though you have the waterfall and such a lovely dramatic cloud formation in the sky, still I have no clue how to make this look even better. I assume when you found it difficult, I would have had to throw it as I couldn't have handled this kind of an image. I think at times one should not see an image for perfection in individual parts of the image, but the entire image as a whole conveys a mood. I re-calibrated my monitor to see this image after you mentioned about calibration and still see the separation too distinct. May be you wanted it that way, just my 2 cents. :).

Ganesh, I liked the composition very much. Also it looks that falls got illuminated nicely from the Sun above in clouds. I am not sure you tried with yellow and red filter in doing B&W photography. However in my opinion or taste B&W photography works excellent for non-contrasty situations
