A nicely seen image, the selective focus and the habitat is nicely conveyed. Personally I would selectively open up the bird a little bit.

One of the Munier's images is like this. Very nicely done.

Oh my, this can only be a Praveen Mohandas image. I have seen images like this in street/night photography but never in a wildlife image. But sorry I won't be able to add value in the way of critique because I've gazed at the image for a full thirty five seconds now and I can't seem to be able to think of how this could be bettered, except perhaps brightening the bird a bit as VMR sir has already suggested. Just loved it all the way.

When I saw the image first on my uncalibrated laptop, I was mentally agreeing with VMR, on opening up the bird a little bit, but now when am seeing this on my imac, I think providing more details on the bird would perhaps change the mood of the image itself. I would very much like it to stay like this. Thoroughly enjoyed your vision Praveen, these are images which help in learning and most importantly to overcome the rigidity of mind.:). I tried a few shots and experimented in this same spot a few days ago and exactly know how difficult it has been to try these sort of stuff in nature. In studio its easier as the subject would listen to us but here our reaction time is much much less, and we can not afford errors. Fantastic.
