I made this image more for its back ground colors than kingfishers. I like the way kingfishers add contrast to the image. Made this today early morning at Ranganathittu bird sanctuary. Thanks for your views..

absolutely stunning, ganesh. great vivid backdrop in contrast with the perfect b&w kingfishers. here, pair also makes a huge difference, adding complexity as well as pattern! yes, we cannot help but the cooler patch on the left of upper edge is little hindering ... may that's an additional contrast in the bg you want to have ... that's ganesh!

regards.

Nice seeing here, Specially the homogeneous BG with 'Holi' colours, and symmetry in the pose of birds are plus points. With tiny subject (providing tiny space in the frame) you have made it for me. thank you for sharing.....Ganesh.

Opened this image just after watching "Hubble telescope" program in NGC. They were showing images of nebulae. This image of yours resemble those clouds. Nebulae are the birth place of stars whereas here stars are infront :)

Love the background .... I think had the image been minus the kingfishers and just the perch, it would have been just as beautiful!

Yes just the perfect pic for Holi I must say. The exposure is bang on, considering the challenges in exposing for the pieds.

yes, i did missed the point, happy holi everyone ... now when it's spread of colours 'that' blob is perfectly suited!

The background looks like a canvas spray painted with mutliple colours and look even the pied KF's are looking at it :) Colour wash is one of my favourite subjects, so many possibilities with it, like patterns in colour wash. I liked your idea of contrast in colour wash. Not rating images images these days, so let this one go as well.

Beauty.. what a background.. wish the catchlight on the second KF was equally prominent too.. and a slightly different angle of lighting too.. then again, we click what we get.. :)
