Tusker - A perspective
I was away at Corbet National Park for a week and returned yesterday night. It was an amazing trip and lots of images to scan through and process in coming days (and probably months, >100gb). Just started looking into some of the images. This wide perspective is made from a very close range using 11mm and using a very low angle of view. This huge tusker is a real gentleman and I was very close to it when it crossed the road. I had to crop some pixels at the bottom to reduce the shadow region of the vehicle. Wish I could of avoided the shadow region totally but I was not seeing it through the view finder. Cropping the entire shadow region I felt dilutes the wider perspective. The shadow also shows a hint of how I got this very low perspective (we are strictly not allowed to get off the vehicle) ! Thanks for your views - more to come in the near future..

What an unique view this, I really love the front to back sharpness of this shot, the graduated sky and tusker settles so nicely in the frame. Pathbreaking seeing the big mammals.

Wow must have been awfully difficult to compose this shot! and the shadow in a way is more valuable for understanding the way this image was executed! Despite the harsh light on the pebbles the sky has come out really nice! Always nice to see the elephant outlined against the sky!
Hope you guys had fun despite the heat

Very unique low perspective. To add to it, the crossing of elephant (instead of remaining static) gives a feeling of 'something happening'.
Will eagerly look fwd to ur Corbet images.

The pebbles lead your eyes to the elephant. As vmr said, loved the sharpness, and the shadow as you say is not desirable. But we all know, how difficult is to get an image that "we" want. Thanks for sharing Ganesh.

Great new perspective of wildlife viewing. Frankly shadow is the spoiler. How about square crop from the right side of the image.
