I'm sorry about the delay in commenting on this, Ganesh. I'm really not sure why there are only five comments on this, because I think this is one of your best ever images. Yes, I know that I'm making a big statement when I say that because the repertoire of your sublime vignettes is enormous, but I have thought about this quite a bit and I really do mean it. I can also comfortably say that this is clearly the most powerful portrait of any animal I have seen in quite some time.
Leaving the superlatives alone and explaining why I like it so much, it is obvious that it's the eye popping precisely out from below the shade that makes this, but every element adds to making the image magical - the legs on both sides and the green surroundings. The composition is just perfectly tight for my taste and if anything I'd have liked a bit more space above the eye before the shadow began but then I don't know whether it really would have bettered the image or had lesser impact than this.
At the end of the day the fact of the matter is that we have an utterly stirring picture here and I so badly want to see it win a big prize in an international competition as a small recognition of what is really an encapsulation of the creativity and mastery of light that you put in to your images. I'm sure the creation of your art is itself your reward to you and to see, enjoy them and be in awe of your mastery is our reward.
Thanks for sharing.
