Dove - a perspective
I made this image at grass lands of Dhikala at Corbet National Park. I felt the posture of the bird, grass blades and a kind of natural burning gave a unique feel to this image. I would love to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance..

Very nice image Ganesh. I liked the off focus BG and a burnt tree bark. Its indeed creating an artistic effect on the image. The Dove's turn in an peculiar angle has completed the image.

Ah! Sublime. Composition-wise, this is flawless. The position of the tree, the pose of the bird, the space to the left of the bird, everything's just perfect. I would have liked the details of the bird to be brought out a bit.

Excellent composition - very well-balanced. Lovely light. The BG blurred out grass (towards the top of the frame) look like brush strokes of a painting. The rich green colour adds to the image. The green blades of grass in foreground - especially in front of the bark/rock forms the much needed element without which the burnt bark (or rock) would have been bit too blank (& thus giving a restless feel to the eye).
Lovely image Ganesh.

Kaushik! you spoke my mind about the grass blades in front of the log! Very minor thing in the frame, but it seem to make significant difference - I thought it may be only for me, now I have you too feeling the same - it is very interesting how human mind perceives certain arrangements.
Gowri, first I did think dove needs to be opened up a bit. Spent some time carefully opening it up using a tablet pen. At the end I realized it did not go very well with the intense background green. What I learnt during this process (at least for my taste) is visual emphasis on the bird decreases as the brightness difference between dove and green background decreases. For this reason I left it as is. Thanks for your observation and views!
