I have always wondered what birds/animals feel when they look at us.
Is it curiosity? Is it fear? Do they feel anything at all?

Great perspective here Prithvi.. the expression is indeed "curious" for me! A little sharper focus on the face would have been awesome.
Was it with some camera trap?? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Rajesh, after seeing this shot on the camera LCD, I did try to increse the DOF, but I never got this head angle.
This is a full frame shot, I also wished that I had got more space at the bottom of the frame.
This was not shot with a camera trap, this is a handheld shot with a sigma 170-500 lens, @500mm.
The shot is taken from a boat at Ranganathittu, while the boat was passing almost under some branches, the Ibis was looking down at me.

Lovely shot man... Traditionally I would loved the focus on the eye... but the shape of the beak makes it interesting.

I think it is combination of all of them.

A very unique portrait indeed. I would open up the eyes just a bit and sharpen it to give more emphasize on the bird, especially eyes. Well seen Prithvi..
