Hi, Thanks for sharing this image. Can you please give more information on how you made this shot. Thanks

Karthick, It is the result of circular motion of the camera. Some time back I had tried this with areca trees. This time I have visualised the final image before clicking the image.
This took me 10-15 attempts to get what exactly I had in my mind. I focused on the center flower and like the zoom burst I rotated the camera slightly in circular shape.
Exif
1/20
f8
ISo400
Nikon D90
18-105@22mm
hand held
I have noticed that it is difficult to achieve this effect in longer focal lengths. @105 I couldn't make not even a single image with this effect.

Adithya, this image is looking extremely interesting, but am unable to understand a few things as I have never tried anything like this. Please do not mind me asking a few questions for my knowledge. Did you keep moving the camera circularly in one direction or did you reverse the movement ( dont know if you got time for that as 1/20 is hardly a slow speed ). The multiple circular patterns formed look like those we see in star trail images made with long exposures of at least 60 mins or more may be, but that is when the camera is still and the earth is moving. You have written here "I focused on the center flower and like the zoom burst I rotated the camera slightly in circular shape"... 1) It is interesting to see complete circular patterns with slight movement of the camera in a circular way 2) What made those multiple circular patterns which should have happened over time. Or may be am simple not understanding the concept here at all :). Is the speed at which you rotate the camera the trick to achieve this ? Making those movement very slow and synchronized with the shutter speed ? I must say, I would have taken over a 100 attempts to get this result :).

Dear Nilanjan, it is not as complicated as it looks. In fact it s even easier than zoom burst. 1/20 @ 22mm is not slow that too when VR is on. What I did is - I held the camera Parrnell to the flowers. After clicking the shutter I rotated the camera slightly CW like the steering of a car . May be circular patterns produced by the movement perfectly join to give a feeling of star trail. As the center portion remains in the same place I will get sharp center.
Please forgive me if I am still confusing you, I am very bad at explaining :(

This is very interesting image Adithya! A nice technique there. Do u think wider the focal length more prominent is the circular motion?
