Vulture and a Water Fall
It is long since I have visited my favourite vulture habitat near Ramanagara. Last week end I visited this place along with my friends from Mangalore - Kiran and Abhishek. It was cloudy and suddenly started pouring like anything. To my suprise we saw this beautiful water fall - never dreamed of seeing a water fall near these Indian Vultures. I did not carry my equipment and made this using Kiran's camera and a 300mm lens - Thanks Kiran !

For those who live in B'lore don't rush to Ramanagara now, this water fall lasts about 10-15 minutes only after a heavy rain :)

Beautiful, very different & unique. Probably one of very few images of a vulture next to a waterfall !
B&W conversion, clubbed with vignetting/burning has eliminated other distractions from the rest of the image.
Liked the way the vulture is looking at the waterfall.

A visual treat here Ganesh, i always thought who could better your 'old' vulture images from Ramanagara. It needed you again ! This would be the bench mark for many. And looking at such images from you and many others in this fourm, it crosses my mind 'should i get inspired and motivated or should i quit ?'

About this image, not sure if that big black border is working and a bit more careful handling of sharpening on the bird?
I'm eager to see this on a print. Let me know when you print this, i want to see.
best regards,
-RD

This is simply perfect, I love the composition. The vulture is placed in the perfect position in the frame, the eyes are captivated by the vulture and then are dragged down slowly with the water, down the frame. This is a compositional masterpiece!

simply unusual scape, ganesh, with perfect ingredients. excellent composition and motion blur with perfectly still vulture! somehow, i feel it becomes less catchy as we go down; probably little local contrast in the (lower) whites of the waterfall would optimize to fullest.

regards.

One more feather in your cap I The idea of using slow shutterspeed in this situation & executing it to the perfection is simply outstanding !
