This image is that of high tide waves splashing on the rocks and raising up to around 20-30 meters high (my guesstimate), the scene sure was majestic/awesome but scary in a way (I have never seen such high wave splashes in my life and so close). It was a stormy day with rain & high tides, most would almost give up stepping out of their houses... While "bad" weather does not seem ideal for photography (esp, the risk in taking care of oneself and taking care of your equipment), I always take up the challenge and venture out as few 'dramatic' images can be tried and made.

Exif: 1 second, f/7.1, 24 mm, ISO 800 on D700. Not sure if I had done enough justice to the scene but after trying few "regular" shots, put my 10 stop ND filter to achieve much slower water flow effect. Though there are few more shots I have of this great sighting with waves/water resembling like its 'dance on the ocean', felt this to have a quite extraordinary resemblance of rain gushing out of the clouds. I am not very good in post processing, more in processing B&Ws (always want to have a workshop with you on this ) but all that I had done for this was cropping out few rocks area in the foreground, B&W conversion, adjustment of shadow/highlights, levels and sharpening.

I usually would want to know ones view before they know about what went behind the image and that's reason why I don't explain much in advance. Not sure if that is good idea but now that I had shared few information, would like to know your views . No, its not actual rain here but there was rain approaching in distant horizon.. and I believe it would have been better if it was shot from much lower angle but it looked quite risky to get further down of the cliff. One more thing I give importance to is title for an image but even after few days of thinking, could not arrive at proper one for this !

I thought it is a splash - but was a bit confusing since the rocks were not visible An interesting perspective. You may try adding more depth by increasing the overall contrast.

Quite a splash this. Like the way water falls as from some cosmic fountain. dark clouds and absence of rocks add to the intrigue.

Seems as if clouds are bursting out. And as Ganesh suggested, adding more contrast may add more charm to the image. Thanks for sharing such not so usual image.

Loved the slow shutter Bharath, it looks like the water is splashing out if the clouds.
if you could bring out some of the highlights and detail in the cloud, it might add to the image IMO
