Doesn't seem like Ganesh's image for me. Not sure why I feel so looking at this image. I don't see that strong bond/connection that I always feel with all your shots. Too many ( or far lessers) things ( or is it reduced elements ? ) my mind is looking for here.

i waited a long time before commenting on this image. i played a lot with crops and with light (sorry ganesh, i downloaded and manipulated it without permission!) ... but i was not satisfied with what i could make. like i felt something was unfinished in this image but i couldn't place a finger on it.

again, like with my comment on Nilanjan's image i am wondering if this is because i am approaching the image with MY IDEA of it and my expectations about Ganesh's creations?

Is that a viewer's burden... to want something else, something more, in an artist's offering?

Thanks a bunch friends, I really appreciate your honest views.

Back to my thoughts, I felt there is a subtle silence in the frame. I tried to enhance that feel of silence by muting the contrast in the region of water and played a bit with light on the rhino.
Do you see/feel that silence ? "No" could be a great answer :)

Hey Ganesh,
now i am a newbie, so am not sure if i will make sense here, but from my gut - here is what i feel:

The look/feel of This image
and this one to my mind have more "quietude" about them than the one here.

not sure if it is the soft white or the blurs or the clean look (the lack of noise?), but something allows more silence in those images than in this one.
but i might be totally off... you guys know more :)

The image has a textured and grainy feel which does not seem to add up to "silence" Ganesh. Putting it differently the question i was trying to understand was if we want a soft muted mood will we print in a matt finish paper or go for a glossy finish ? If the image has blue cast would it convey silence better in color instead of B&W ?

This one definitely is food for thought! Been pondering about this for a while, can relate to the "silence" in the frame, the upper dark patch enhances the depth and silence in a way, and on the other side seems a bit distracting as it seems to disassociate the region above.

Am not very sure but there is something you have tried to convey, besides the silence. Unlike most of your images, this is very subtle in terms of the subject. Would love to know your thoughts in detail on this one.

i can sense the calmness/silence in the photo as well as in that situation. But for my eyes, those grains are taking away that feel :(
