Gaurline
After seeing VIncent Munier series of the D4 I was blown away, a favorite project of mine was similar to the one by VM, I had scouted various locations and even clicked some. Sadly I was not having great light to work with and with the problem of facing cranky elephants on my way back I could get some hurriedly done shots similar in concept, my previous post was also on these lines. Must say everytime I see Vincent Munier I tend to lean towards Nikon.
There are very few places in India which really stand up to this kind of imagery, the shola grasslands are one such place maybe a due time is spent to do a photostory I would be gladly willing to help. Pushed the WB a little in Post.

Even before i read the description i was getting pulled back to the frames of the yak by VM which i saw just a few days back.
Nice frame here VMR ... me feels the impact "might" have been more if the head was raised ? But things like these are easier said than done - wish it was easy for us to say "Chin up, look to your right, smile" and click in wildlife photography :)

Superb image ! Natural curves of the Gaur & horns make an interesting silhoutte. This image reminds me of similiar image of Hanguls, i made at Dachigam few months back ...Will share here soon.

I had not yet seen VM's images when i saw VMR's :)
LIked this a lot... you have more in the series? would love to see.

the BACK! i have fallen in love with the curves on a Gaur's back. i also like that you have retained the grass and details... (are some of you wondering how *i* am saying this?!) A series on the grasslands is a wonderful idea - it is fragile and often not thought of as "wild." important to focus on it.

best,
A

Nice strong patterns, I liked the hint of head below the horizon works nice also due to the dramatic sky.

Very interesting image VMR sir. The details in the FG is captivating. Hint of the legs would have added further to the composition?
