Color version here

The lower part of the frame is upper part of stadium. Very close to the stadium is bay where quite number of sea gulls reside/visit. When ever the stadium lights are switched on for night matches, I see these seagulls hovering over the bright light rays. I have often seen similar behaviour with moths (and few other insects I suppose) on streets lights, reason for which is explained here.

Based on the information here, I understand that the seagulls are attracted to light and feed on bugs that are drawn to the bright lights. Interesting behaviour and watching this quite often made me try few such long exposure images.

Thanks Bharath for the colored version and explanation. Earlier I thought the streaks as insects but Gulls came as revelation. Gentle trajectories of flight soften the iron and concrete skyline. It also fills the cold and barren space with life. My taste buds go for the color version for its warmth and closer to life feel.

I would have liked if the building was not over exposed, it takes too much attention away form the trails,
may be u could have one exposure to get the gulls and another for the rest.

It was a puzzle for me when i looked few days back. Looking at color and your explaination, Gulls is a big surprise.
If you are closeby to this place, go back try many different perspectives. This has a great potential to offer a great set of images.
In this image, i would have preferred eliminating the high rised building. Thanks for a wonderful image Bharath.

Took all your suggestions and have come up with another image "Gulls Calligraphy", wanted to name it as "Not a Lazer show" but Nirlep's timely words helps even for the title .
Eliminated the building in new one but I find it difficult to balance the exposure for final output (should learn better ways to naturally merge over exposed image with its underexposed counterpart). Sure RD, will try and make some more images with this subject. Should have realised when it was summer but better late than never .
