I think crop works well here Arati. The chosen shutter speed appears perfect. I like the light and blur on the grass held in the trunk a lot. I would loose some definition on grass if this were mine. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to get your thoughts, Ganesh - struggled with the crop and the colors a bit.

Losing the right ear made for much more "action" - but somehow lost the charm. Then i converted it to B/W and felt the pink and the golden was not good lost - so i retained the colors. But still feel i could lose (yes, as you suggested, definition of the grass) and some of the lower pixels... struggled, hence put it up for all your inputs!

Arati...really liked the blur by the flapping ears and the thrashing trunk with the grass..both on the same side..catching the light...so add to this image...bringing back some lovely memories of corbett ...

Liked the crop, the angle and the motion a lot. All three have nicely combined together very well to portray the mood in this image. The grass too can remain undefined to compliment, beautiful image Arati.

I commented in a jiffy yesterday, I had to come back to this image Arati. I feel like am seeing this wonderful lady in the grassland and asked my driver to stop by it. Something I did not do in Corbett, I rarely stopped to watch a herd in the grassland, I would like to thank you for making me stop and see her. Though there are creative applications of photography in this image but I did not come back to see how good was the execution of the slow shutter speed, how good is the blur etc etc. I think this image is silently making a tremendous impact, an impact of a daily routine often ignored by many including me, but the size, the twilight tone and a simple story of the grassland has touched me deep inside Arati. The image narrates the story of a beautiful lady, irrespective of the form. You probably noticed it better than a man would. I would not hesitate to say THIS IS ART. This image clearly moves beyond visual elements to connect the mind emotionally. This image speaks more about life in the grasslands than the skills of an artist. Hats off dearie....., you came to the grasslands for a short while and left strong impressions of your presence through simplicity. Am truly impressed.

This one's tremendous. Looks like you've gone very close and wide. That has very well captured modulations of form. Two-way motion of the pachyderm, to the front and sideways, packs it with energy. Freshly pulled grass is still swaying. Wow!! It's so real I feel it will walk out of my monitor.

It is such a privilege to have you all resonate with this lovely lady as much as i did! am really happy. she (i call her Mama in my mind) is probably the most wonderful pachyderm encounter i've had - along with Junius (Face of Grace) and Sultan (coming up shortly )

I don't know if Shankar Kiragi is following this thread or not, but I would love to see some of his outstanding creations of Corbett NP in the forum. Not only I was shaken up by the kind of images he made there, but undoubtedly there is a mind in him which is so different from many of us. I get to learn something whenever I see his images, I will not be wrong if I say that perhaps his is one of the most creative minds that I have seen in CNP or even outside the forum. My salute to you Shankar......I am one of your biggest fans, wish I can make images like you do some day. Amazing human being.....
