I like this. The directional lighting highlights the moment. Evokes the right emotion. Well processed as well. If at all could there be more space on the right

simply love the processing here ~ the burnt burnished look with light kissing the tops of his ears. superb image, to my eyes.

Lovely processing here Neelu. Couple of things might add to this further. I would considering leaving a little more space at the top - which keeps the ear/hear a little within the frame. I would consider burning the left edge and top a bit more so that crop of the elephant does not look abrupt. As Raj noted directional light on the trunk/legs and the little one is excellent. I may even consider dodging those areas slightly more. Thanks for sharing.

absolutely classic, neelu. like the way sepia tones 'n low-key suggest warmth. lovely.

Well, everybody already mentioned lovely tones and processing, let me think something opposite, could I make you think of cropping a little more from the top ? hehehehehe :-), I love the tone and the mood in the image a lot here Neelu.

Superb job here with processing Neelu :) The light on the trunk and tusk looks dramatic. I agree with Ganesh on burning the top left and bottom left corners, that should make the elephant blend in to the frame further.

Thanks :)

Rajkumar., Arati,Nevil, Radha,Sriram...thank you..... yes i think im now kind of fine tuning my processing more than ever before...long way to go..im sure..

Ganesh...thank u for the pointers...i have kind of learned from your constant pointers on this forum about "those extra pixels" on either edges ..and how they matter......this is a full frame image..and i could zoom back no further...had to choose between the top or the bottom gettting cut out.!!.. i picked up this flaw but didnt want to extend the canvas.to include the ear....( didnt know if its ethical or a done thing)..
"burning the left edge and top a bit more".... i tried to re examine..it looks really dark on my monitor...will check this on another screen.....and sort out this...

Nilanjan..thank you.. for ur hearty laugh.. it reached here well.!!!!! ."cropping from the top".... i like it..the attitude of always looking beyond what is obvious...WHY NOT? rather than WHY?...hopefully in camera next time..!!!!!!!

I can imagine a big (may be 16x16 or higher) square image cropped from rhs, on canvas, may be a bit of brightness for the print, gallery wrapped.

Fantastic light and great processing.. that tinge of copper brown (??) is making the image for me... Thanks for sharing!

Hrishikesh and Kiran ..thank you......yep agree its the side light directional that is creating the mood .

R.D..touched by ur comment... and i did try the square crop also..it did look more balanced...for some reason i found a FLOW in the rectangle crop where...a side lit image it flows from LIGHT onto almost darkness...I felt that dark space had its own function of "no image" or "hint of the rest"....which lent lot of contrast n support to emphasize and convey the Embrace part of the image.. whereas the square crop seemed perfect ...but IMO had that "it stops here"..kind of feel. just sharing.. i agree sometimes the emotion conveyed is enough..may be the rest of t he frame becomes a dilution or unnecessary.... can look at it bothways:):) do hope someday i can make images that are "gallery wrapped"!!!! dreaming on!!!!
