Oh, what a scene! It must have been a wonderful experience Ganesh. Comparison is inevitable . After seeing B/W version some time ago I will go with b/w only. How about cropping a few pixels from the bottom?
Adithya, it was not only spectacular it was very scary (and probably foolish of me) to stand there in open to make images when conditions are like this. I think so more after a 'gentle' lightning experience in another place. This forced me to buy a lightning detector (have not tested it still)
Wonderful tones here Ganshi, though I know this image would look amazing in monochrome too, I would somehow want to see this in colors only , I think the emotional connection will not much differ.
Ganesh i'm drenched with the feel of the image. Would love to see it big real big! It would be scary definitely with dams full of water right on your top But it is such hardiness against odds which makes such pictures. Thanks for sharing
This jungle and water scape is very close to my heart Ganesh, and it had to be you to do such perfect justice to capture the essence of this jungle. This image makes me so happy
love the moody feel of monsoon 'n grandeur portrayed by clouds, ganesh. perfect play of tones. i feel, monochrome will be better but then again this one is very realistic in terms of colours.
I too prefer the color variant Ganesh! I love how the dark ominous clouds melt into a thundering out pour and the green grass looks surreal as if waiting to embrace the downpour! Would love to hear more about the 'gentle' experience and what is the lightning detector used for?
Harsha, once we (me, Kiran and Abhisek) were on a little mountain on a very cloudy day. Suddenly all of our hairs stood upright !! while few saw lighting strike around near by place. We came running down. It was a great experience (don't want to experience it again though). Later I bought a lightning detector, which senses electrical activity up to a few kilometers and can warn about an approaching lightning bolt.
this image makes me thirsty for the rains now we WANT the rains!! where are they? i too like the now-monochromatic/ now color scheme of this image. simply beautiful and evocative of the monsoons.
