Hairy Rhythm
My effort was to capture the compression wave motion of this caterpillar at Coorg. It is a slow mover. But then, when you are experimenting with different shutter speeds to capture its motion, it does feel that it moves fairly fast. I was lucky to nail at least one image. Here it is. Appreciate your views and comments.

Regards,
Ramesh

Saar, i'm trying to imagine your experiment from the side of the caterpillar, some sharp and some blurr hairs. have one ?
This image: A closer (or a closer crop) would be more interesting, for me, surrounding black is bit more now?

Very unique DOF here.. Beutifully shot and presented.
I totally echo your view on how even snail can be too fast for Macros :)

Thanks RD and Ravi for your views. RD, at present, getting closer would be by cropping more. I had tried that, but felt that it gave the caterpillar a larger than life look. Hence, left it as is.

Hi Ramesh,
I do see compression wave through varying hair density at the back and middle.
Thanks for sharing
