That poor twig / branch though being on the top and expected to feel fresh from the first cool drops of monsoon rain unfortunately turned out to be the one to bid adieu before it's time. The stretch of the web still narrates the story of life which was put to an abrupt end, now soon all strings would be freed, attachments would be gone, a new one will grow and the story will repeat itself. What a concept Ganshi !!!! Just what a concept !!!! Now this is bloody image making, this is creativity.....Outstanding dear, love you for this.

Even those branches on top are making me imagine as if am hearing a scream, an intense cry seeing an untimely death. Loved the Caption too. THE MISSED MONSOON...... , it was great to see a very meaningful image in CNP after a while.

Hey Nilanjan, thanks for your views. Nice to know it touched your senses too. While abstract portrayals like this could be one of the paths to art in nature photography the question of subjectivity haunts me often. I was/am not sure how many of us could relate and respond to such abstractions. How can we make such creations more definitive without diluting the artistic merits of the image ? How can we use elements of nature to make it more relatable in abstract way ? No easy answers there.. My related comment to Adithya's image here. Would love to hear your thoughts..

Very thoughtfully made image, Ganesh! It looks like the upper twig is craving for rain. Very effectively conveys the message. The situation is same everywhere, I happened to visit western ghats last week, and situation is similar there as well.

Definitely conveys crest fallen. Given up. Reaching out. Hanging in there on a thread. Past and future seems to fade away.

Ganesh, Had you not titled this image, would this image be impressive as it is now ? I am not sure if i would have related this to waiting for the rains by those twigs. It is difficult to imaging now, as some thoughts have grown already in my mind about monsoon and these twigs. However, harder i think, i tend to think this as three individuals, one is trying to break away from the other and leaning for the third one on right ? Visually, it appeals a lot for me had you not titled ? A good example for leaving things untitled and making viewers minds grow on the image ?

RD, that is exactly my point about the subjectivity and hence the related thread in the forum. While a some subjectivity or openness is desirable I think it can't be orthogonal. Is "Chair by Her Bed' as referred in the noted thread above is wide open ? I think we all can relate to it in a similar way. Won't it be possible to learn a definitive language of expression if we have to pursue nature photography as an art form ?

Master, three days ago I was in Chikmagalur, visiting couple of waterfalls. It is little better over there, lush green with some rains. I too sincerely hope for monsoon showers. Also, I just wanted to say that we share your pain.

Hmm I can very much relate to what you are saying w.r.t TGH as well as monsoon. I just admire your ingenuity of creating images and making art from nothing. This image is no exception. Conveys the mood so well !

another great series, ganesh, so intense 'n thought provoking. love the way each tells the story of 'almost lost hope in waiting', with the last one 'young, innocent, less experienced 'n most optimist'!

Very Thought provoking series..... kicks up a mixed overwhelming emotion... The Series carves a feeling of "Each day passed without rain...." in the mind.
