Excellent Mood. Light on the dust is beautifully emphasizing its shape. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ganesh, I like the tones and the play of light created in this image, I would crop a few pixels at the bottom. I would love to see a color image of this. I sometimes think you move away from what I call "mainstream" nature images, I miss these types of images when you go deep into 'creative' stuff. We need both I guess, IMHO.

ooohh. wonderful play of light and capture. Has that pictorial quality ( reminds me of works of TNA Perumal )

Interesting thoughts there Vikram about moving away from 'mainstream' . Over the years the definition of what is 'mainstream' might change.

I decided to post this not for the 'seeing' aspect of the image - actually there is none here. However, there is some amount of *creativity* in handling different tonal ranges in B&W images - the way we carefully handle dark/mid/high tones to enhance the feel of the image. If we look at Ansel Adam's images I think they are work of art not for the compositions or 'seeing' reasons but they are work of art for the reasons of finesse of his prints, how he meticulously managed different tonal ranges in his prints. There is lots of creativity in such process. I made some such attempts in treating light in this image. I am sure Raj (who was making his own B&W prints) could relate to what I am saying here..

This is a fabulous creation, Ganesh! The fine details, dust bath, light, everything is so carefully presented here. Also the shade (one of my friend noticed it, else would have easily missed it) of the dust & trunk on the left most elephant looks just great. I believe this will be a treat to watch it on print. TFS.

I just cant get my eyes off this image GaneshaNNa... i have revisited this at least a dozen times in the last 2 days... The title is such an apt one too... and the tones are so special and poetic in nature... Just loving it...

Agreed Ganesh. For Ansel Adams light was the subject itself. Well almost. Many a times he talks about Luminescence and the feeling of enveloping light .

wonderful dust cloud...the lighting on the lead elephant looks as though you have taken a brush and painted it on. I'm not educated enough to participate in a discourse of tonalitly and such, but I do know what I enjoy....it is this.

cheers
