Which one works better ?
Which of these two works better for you ? B&W or the color image below ? "Neither" is a perfectly fine answer :)

Colour for me too Ganesh. The beauty of this image lies in the lovely play of colours. I particularly loved the way the orange of the tawny coaster stands up against the blue of the sky. The soft focus is adding a nice feel

I would, without a doubt, say that the Black and White image works better for me, Ganesh. While the color image is beautiful, the colors vivid and lively, it is too literal for me. the ephemeral nature of the creature in the BW image, the transparency in its wings, the mystery of the undergrowth, the tones, all work poetically for me. The BW image has a fragility that is very compelling.

i would look at the BW image for many hours. the color image? i would stare at it, whistle, say wow, and maybe move on :)
A lovely dilemma, but BW a hands down winner for me.

Both have unique characteristics and it it is hard to compare these 2 samples head on. I feel the composition has made the BW image a little more dynamic.. feel the lens was dug into the land to get this perspective! which I hope is not the case :)
The color image is brilliant but makes me feel its a regular tripod shot.

Such lovely creations both of them, Ganesh! Its amazing to see how much difference in the mood brought by different processing of similar images. Monochrome version has a mystique mood in it. And of course my favourite among the two. Colour version has lovely play of colours and brings joyous mood. TFS.

Prashanth
