Portrait of a Forest: Dusk Dash
As the sun sank lower in the sky, light drained from the day. Creatures of the night came alive, making others skittish, on guard, and impulsive. Against a wall of invasive Eupatorium, a fawn bounded away, into the arms of the night ...

Hi Arati,
The animal leaving the frame strikes a chord with me as does streaks of motion. Dawn and dusk are so filled with surprises. Keep 'em coming.
thanks for sharing

Thanks Nirlep ... i am trying to go chronologically during a day in a season in the forest. it is an interesting exercise. Also trying to shot the portrait of the *forest* without it becoming a portrait of the megafauna ... again, an interesting exercise ... let's see how far i get.

one more coming up... the sun has set ... so now it is time for the pre-dawn life.

This one reminds me of your leopard image, the deer in this case is really mysterious. This faint hint of the animal in the forest sets up the imagination to dwell more into the forest. Liked this.

thanks VMR ... i tried to keep the light as it was that night, no adjustments ... in this whole series, trying to see if i can do that. no ISO plays, just light as close to how my eye saw it ... yes, the semblance of a deer leaving the scene from the corner of my eye ... and the vast bank of eupatorium is what i felt like showing of the darkening forest...

thanks again,
A
