An ordinary life
“... when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more ropes.”

<apologies to Anais Nin for the liberty taken with her marvelous words>

PS: About this image: I saw debris washed up by the tides on the beach - this particular one had fishing lines and coir and crabs and ropes, toothbrushes and all kinds of other things. there were several hermit crabs trying to break free from the ropes, lines, coir, and move on to the sand. this is one such hermit crab (they themselves are shell-less and "adopt" shells - so this is not its own shell) trying to escape.

There was no human (living or dead :)) involvement in the arrangement of objects in this scene.

There is a distinct woman in this... In fact i see her nose... allowed to just breathe... blurred strands and loose rope work really well with flux of the picture... Beautiful abstract this!!! No more ropes!!! :)

Quite intriguing Arati. Can you please tell us a bit more about the subject ? Is it an under water image ?

Thanks preyas and ganesh!
Ganesh: on the beach at low-ish tide, some coir and fishing nets had washed up. In them were these tens of hermit crabs... All trying to break free. This one had the thickest red rope around it and was pulling to come free.
Alas, nilanjan da - there was no cloud of sand dust! :)

But that is the story. A hermit crab, trying to break loose from shackles - maybe not of its choice. I saw in it a metaphor for an ordinary life.

Preyas: i cannot see the woman! My failing :)

Thanks again,
A

arati....besides the meaning/story that u attach to ur images...im looking at the pure visuals... the concentric white rings on the blackish shell and the twisted rope strands ..with the gently swaying weeds/grass, add the interest/intrigue here.. also love the diagonal split of lighter and darker tones... lovely.

Arati what makes me glued to the image is that it looks like a universal mother with life reeling off. I prefer not reading the description for it comes in my way of looking at it. Forms in the frame are all about the spiralling endless. On a distant note reflections of string theory.

Arati, am seeing it on a large monitor now :-), nopes, no crab for me dear. Kha liya kya ? :-) Next time I won't b so late. I thought this was a bayblade ( lattu ) with strings and you placed them on the grass to convey some message. Hum to iye image dekh ke lattu ho gaye ji...lol....

Thank you Neelu, Nirlep, Nilanjan Da!
Neelu: that is what attracted me to this creature and the scene in the first place.
Nirlep: Love your interpretation. Such comments breathe different leases of life into images.
Nilanjan Da: you know my stance on planted things and staged images :) I'd rather drown my camera. The Bayblade interpretation was too funny. indeed if it was that, posting it on CNP would be so foolish, no! The crab is there - it has not escaped yet ... step back and see. its eyes, its antennae
Thanks all
