Two things about this image which look the most striking to me are the sense of security provided by the "pillars" and the near white tones of the calf and hind? leg of the parent. Cocooned in secure warmth of its parents this baby can go on to live a long life. The framing too works for me. That feeble stroke resonates with the tones in the frame.

absolutely lovely image, the portrayal of a parents role, with the symbolic pillars, is value initself, interesting lighting.

lovely image for me. i will never tire of any amount of elephant images :)
would like to know your thinking behind the brightest parts of the image. seems like it lost some definition of the skin ... has it?
if so, why did you make that decision?
if not, i was wondering if toning it down a tad lost some of the dramatic effect?

Thanks for a glorious smile,
A

Sorry for the delayed response Arati. Life has been so hectic of late..

Probably it did but wasn't a conscious thought lose it. I was just focusing on the protection these cute ones get from the family..
