Heaven, Earth and Migration

Heaven, Earth and Migration
A convergence of sun, wind, rain and geology fuels the wildebeests' annual migration through the land they have occupied for 1.5 million years. Each year they travel some 1,800 miles, in a race towards rain and the green it engenders. Their journey has no beginning, and no end. Among the main themes of the Great Migration are, the rain, the land and the migration itself. I tried to capture the flavour of the timeless journey of wildebeests through falling rain in an ancient land, by changing over to wide angle. It was a magical setting with the rain-laden wind blowing across the vast savannah and the sound of thunder bellowing from the dark clouds above. Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Wonderfully seen. Love it.

Art is about what is inside rather than what is outside

This image conveys the 'African mood' well - the showers far off, sun peeping through the clouds throwing subtle light on the to vast plains.
