What a picture of torn reconstructed reality. ! If this were mine I would consider clipping away the portions above and below the torn part. It makes me think..think a lot.

Interestingly a month back I made a similar image. I went to my small village and thought of seeing my government run school. I still remember where I sat in that school as a 1st standard student. It made a wonderful subject now, about 45 years later. Here is how a wall of my school, now abandoned, looks like. Nature behind it is still fresh and green, like what it used to be then!

Interesting point made Ganesh. Nature has a way of coming back. The april issue of nat geo carried similar story "The nuclear tourist" about tourism at the site of nuclear meltdown at Pripyat, chernobyl. It says " All overgrown now, Pripyat, once hailed as a worker's paradise, is slowly being absorbed by the earth." The story is quite amazing..

and.."twenty nine years after the explosion of a nuclear reactor at Chernobyl, the zone, all but devoid of people, has been seized and occupied by wildlife. There are bison, boars, moose, wolves, beavers, falcons...." Here "seized" appealed the most to me for it means the innate ability of nature to be at the root of everything. When everything vanishes nature emerges from hibernation to embrace surprise and sustain.

Raj, this image has a profound impact. Sometime ago, when i was talking to a relative in a village, he pointed me to a jack fruit tree in the backyard and told me that the tree is worth Rs: XXXX/-. I was appalled at that thought. I feel we are putting a price tag on all things around us.

@ Ganesh : abandoned school is a a story by itself whish I could shoot that someday. Nature retaining its vitality is a interesting contrast.
