Tunnel Spider
At the outset it may be another image of spider on a dew drops. But if you watch this image closely you may notice some complex creative lighting here. This image is lit by three sources of light - early morning cloudy ambient light, a little bit of flash light and a warm balanced torch light. Without these special lighting the image would have looked very dull.

Image details - 1/8s @ f36, 200mm f4 micro, full frame, saved at jpg quality of 8 to fit into 300Kb limitation (I have one with better resolution on my web site). Thanks for your views.

A living jewel among millions of tiny diamonds! Thats how the image strikes me. Its wonderfully done to say the least. What a remarkable DOF you have here! Rendering ALL the dewdrops in SHARP focus. Brilliant shot as usual. The lighting trick works too, I guess the best effect is of the warm torch setting the spider on fire! Also loved the new macro shots on your site! Brilliant

Hats off!. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the little green leaf on the left side. Do you think it's adding to the image?

Lovely image this one. Nice choice to keep all the elements in the image within the DOF. Thanks for sharing the technical specs/EXIF data.
Were u referring to warm colours of the spider (meaning torched pointed at spider)? Also did u use on-body flash or an external one ?
Really loved this image. Personally, I might clone out the green leaf on the left edge - but it is not too bothersome.

Nirav, Kaushik. I retained green leaf as is since I don't wanted to clone and tagthe image as "Digitally Modified" (DM) image in my site :) I don't wanted to crop the image too since it will affect the composition.

Kaushik, I used both built in flash and a warm white balanced torch light.

Thanks for your views.

What is a warm white balanced torch? This sounds very interesting. I generally shift WB to fluorescent while using a white beam but this is sounds interesting to learn. Gem of an image, beyond my qualification to comment on it. Loved the water droplets all over. Terrific.

Nilanjan, warm white balanced torch is just a flash light generating warm light, unlike LED based torch lights which emit blue
light. Thanks for your views..

Hey!
This is a beauty! The translucense of the image sets it apart. It seems as if the spider is moving out of one world into many worlds.
Great work!!

now i know, what 'treasure chest' would look like! though its o u t s t a n d i n g all the way, i would prefer little play of shadow to render dimensions more deeply (just my pov, ganeshji).

regards.

The emotional impact this creates is tremendous. Easily one of your best! I would rate this much more than the award winning butterfly!

wow! I think the leaf adds to the image. The darkness of the hole from which the spider is emerging sets off the yellow colour of the spider. The crystal like dew drops gives it that delicate look like a sheesh mahal. Amazing! The only thing that has not registered here is the morning light ambience to go with the fresh dew drops.

Thats a nice combination of lighting. warmth in the image contributed by the torch light is interesting
