VIRINCHI
“Mortal as I am, I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth.”

Claudius Ptolemy
(AD 90 - AD 168)

This image is very close to my heart, and I made it exactly a year back as a part of my mission to visualize this grand statement coined some 2000 years back. Just before the shoot I got news about our forthcoming bundle of joy and despite the popular advice me and my wife Siri decided to go ahead with the shoot, knowing all to well, that this would be our final adventure into the wild just the both of us. Our world was due to change beyond recognition in the coming few months and a whole new universe would be created centered around the little one. We were suddenly made aware of our place in this cosmos and it was a trip which was filled with hope, joy and anticipation for the new creation.

Virinchi arrived on Aug 20th 2013, and he created for us a new universe, which was both beautiful and divine. Virinchi refers to the "Creator" (of the Universe) and is an alter name for Lord Brahma, and if there is any place in this world where I can find true happiness, then its among the stars he has created for us!

Harsha I'm absolutely in awe of this image of yours. Accompanying words make it even more profound. In this coming together of the terrestrial and the Extra-terrestrial you've created a new space where both look disparate yet parts of a bigger space and scheme. I feel such depictions help open our minds to new seeing.
VIRINCHI be blessed.
