Sublime!, Ganesh. Love the way title n thread underscore many religious beliefs n the thoughts behind them. Stunning play of light n details too.
Regards.

Great play (and of course the control) of light and shadow! The coloured thread in the almost uni-toned background is what making the image for me. The red threads on the left side of the frame, that colour seems very unique for a digitally captured image! I don't remember seeing that particular tone of red in any digital camera till now!

Entirely sold out over the simplicity of the image. How a particular thread occupying minuscule space on the frame holds so much together; entire tree trunk housing vertical gods in a gesture of embrace, circumambulation and belief. Could it be due to the large mind space it occupies in our minds due to our belief systems thus requiring just the symbolic presence?
Thanks for sharing Ganesh!

Thank you all!

Could it be due to the large mind space it occupies in our minds due to our belief systems thus requiring just the symbolic presence?

Nirlep, may be yes!

Is it theism through pantheism? Or, may be thats how our great grand fathers preserved nature by installing Gods in them? "Pantheism" as a word came much later, I guess.

Coming back to the image
I'm asking myself a question, does the image appeal to me as a visual or an idol. The latter appears more convincing to me for it explains why and how a nominal piece of thread holds so much of weight. It being an essential part of our iconography, tied around another identifiable iconographic symbol completes in me the cognition of pre-identified image of something sacred.
hope i'm making sense...

I spent some time with this image and Nirlep's comment.
Yet to come to terms with it.
