Beautiful patterns. It does look like blood vessels branching into capillaries. Back lighting is uniform and adds to the feel of the image. TFS.

I like the intricate fractal design of the nature here. In mathematics we have Mandelbrot's and Julia sets. What inspires me is subtle and beautiful randomness thrown in by nature in its repetitions within fractals compared to those in Mandelbrot's and Julia sets where the repetitions are very predictable (it has to be in maths - some statistics thrown in can bring some randomness but let us not complicate it much).

Unpredictability in nature's creation makes it art, predictability in our creations driven by mathematical equations are not art. One can watch and enjoy Mandelbrot's and Julia set graphics for a few days but after that we will get bored but not with creations of nature.. Thanks for sharing.

This reminds me of the Jaali-work like you see in the forts and havelis of rajasthan. I can almost imagine a veiled princess's lit profile behind it. But this Jaali is much more beautiful than anything i have seen made by man ~ for it is not "copy exactly" or repetitive... there is unpredictability. And that allows for continuous surprises.

lovely again, vipin. looking forward to logging in tomorrow morning for yet another beautiful mystery from nature (courtesy, Vipin!)

I seriously cannot take the pain any longer!!! Open feedback: Submit this for next year's BBC WPOTY !!

The image reminded me of designs i see in persian carpets. It also reminded me of cell structure when viewed under microscope. There are so many interpretations. Lovely seeing Vipin. One of the best images for me in recent times.

lovely maze of capillaries 'n blood-vessels, vipin. like the uniformity 'n undecipherable natural equation it follows.
