Bos gaurus en el sol
I find these creatures incredibly handsome. Their majesty to me stems from their powerful build and that in turn is embodied by the curves of their backs.

So i worked on an image which highlighted those curves and tried to keep only enough to show it off.

The original image was made in 2009 when i was still not "seeing" or "thinking" about photography. Today, when i revisited the image by chance, i noticed strong rim lighting and thought i would process it thus. i have burned the surroundings so that only the rim light shows through. i have also cropped out about 30% to retain focus only on the backs.

the next challenge is to make this image i have seen now in my mind, in-camera.
[thanks nilanjan-da for exhorting me to clarify the processing - it is imperative!]

Excellent stuff, two lines and the outline around the horn is making this image for me. Enough light around the horn to show the species as well. Very creative and artistic Arati. Normally we have seen so much of rim lighting on subjects that the eyes look for something extra, this image has it. Brilliant execution. Keep it rolling dear :-). Best of luck.

Nice golden lines there Arati. I think some more hint on gaurs would have added. Thanks for sharing..

The image has a very graphic feel to it. So minimalistic and yet so expressive. Situations like this shows how our thinking evolves over time. Something which is not apparent and desirable today may become obvious and exotic tomorrow!

Thanks for all the thoughtful comments. Now when i re-look at this image i see i have to process a little more gently, carefully... i can see some undesirable things! learning learning.

i am going to rework this a little for my own practice - thanks all!

A Langur or macaque beautifully lit in golden light is what came to me from the thumbnail. Very well seen, a much more definition would have added.
Thanks for sharing.
