Our Hanging habitat !
This was probably one of image, clicked within first few days of my new D.SLR . Most images were made on AUTO mode.
I was trying few flower shots in a plant nursery, when i saw Fishtail palm tree. I thought the hanging yellow n black berries
will give me interesting pattern so i lied on the ground flat to try shot from below. I was surprised to see `the bats' in the hollow between hanging berries ! As camera was on auto mode the flash also fired !
The wish to better this shot is still unfulfilled,as now the tenants have moved somewhere else from this hanging home !

( Done some cloning as the shine of flashlight on berries were taking attention away from BATS)

Thanks for C& C n most importantly suggestions...

so who says we cant take great pics in auto mode! This picture is brilliant. The colored berries surrounding the bats is simply too good. Also it gives the feeling of looking at the bats from top down instead of the bottom up approach. I loved it. Just imagining how the image would have looked if the fifth bat was in line with the remaining four and made a complete circle. But thats nature photography you dont get everything. Getting such a great perspective is wonderful.

Jayeshji let tell me that this one made me to pop out of my seat, what an image. I never knew that a bat image can be so colourfull. Very wonderful perspective and I must say I will start looking at fishtail palms when in fruit very seriously.

An amazing award winning image Jayesh. Looks like it it needs some exposure correction (I am not seeing this on a calibrated display right now, so not totally sure). Love those eyes and pattern of bats in the middle surrounded by those berries. Thanks for sharing..

My Goodness, I am totally lost for words! Others have stolen my words - this is truly award winning. I have made many statements in past about your images and I hope another one doesn't make any difference ;-). If it's award winning , I guess this should be on CNP IOM! This is true quality and my sincere bows!

Coming to technical aspects ( though its irrelevant looking at the impact this image has created ) , tad level and exposure correction as Ganesh has suggested will put this over the top!

A glitter in their eyes, a curious look and colours all around them is what makes this image very special for me. This one is surely one of your best.
Probably when you are having a re look at this image you might want to consider fidling with the WB and see if it can pump up the image.
Thanks for sharing.

On a calibrated display it looks much better Jayesh - you may need a very little correction in levels to boost the impact further...
