I just came back home photographing for ten days at Bharatpur. I have been visiting Bharatpur bird sanctuary since 2003. Two things define Bharatpur for me. First of course lovely, moody bird scapes. Secondly, the people who peddle us around the beautiful park from morning to evening. Often we take the latter for granted. Without them there is no Bharatpur for us. Many of them, Sikhs, who found home at Bharatpur after the bitter trauma called partition of India.

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind - Albert Einstein

I can guess where this quote by Einstein comes from.

Anyway, behind all the happiness and serenity for us the visitors is very hard work by the riksha pullers.

This image is dedicated all the cycle riksha pullers of Bharatpur.

Image - dual exposures merged in-camera.

Hi Ganesh!
How vividly I remember the image from our chance meeting at Bharatpur. Portrayal of Rickshaw pullers as purveyors of nature is a story in itself. The story of rickshaw pullers at bharatpur needs to be told and could be better than you to take it up. Befitting tribute to the Rickshawalas of Bharatpur.
Look forward to more

Such a heart-warming n thought provoking image, Ganesh. I had only been there once but I can feel their importance n hardwork for living as well. This also reminds me of Nirlep's kanchenjunga image. very interesting n deserving subject to work on. Waiting for more from your latest trip :)

Ganesh, initially I could not connect to the image. But after my visit to Bharatpur this year, the thoughts behind the image struck me. The image very well creates the situation of those (forced)migratory birds.
