Creativity, Art & Nature
About 15+ years ago, when my son was a little kid I had bought lots of toys for him. I can now find them everywhere in my house. Yesterday I picked up this leaf which fell and rested on my window. It is clear that we got inspired by creations in Nature from external appearance perspective. Curves/circles dominate more in our creations than rectangles for example. However, there is one thing which is strikingly different - lifespan of our creations!! I am sure these balls and marbles will last another 500 years while this leaf, a Nature's creation silently made way to another leaf!! The death is part of the birth in the designs of Nature. What a magnificent beauty that is!! Why didn't we think of it when we created plastic? Did Nature assumed we will get it because it made us smarter? Looks like Nature made a mistake! Sounds tautological? Really?!

The leaf has been drained of its color. A faint remaining green is there. We need to recall and imagine the color. But that's all. We are not sentimental about it or have any memories more than that. Are we experiencing only the bare essence of the leaf. By contrast the marbles we need not remember the physical appearance . It is there. However it invokes a flood of memories and means many things and connections to the owner. And yes, you own the marbles.. can you say you own the leaf....strangely you own this image of the leaf now. Not the leaf but this image of the leaf became like the marble now ...
